Self Confessed Hoarder

So my major weakness in life is vintage clothes and its fast getting out of control. Recently I was taking the other pictures for my blog in my granny flat which has been taking over by me and is now my sewing and storage room. After looking though the pictures I took of my sewing room I realized I must have a filter over my eyes that look over the clutter. This rack of clothes is one example it has two levels and is jam pack with clothes and these are the ones that don’t fit in my wardrobe! You don’t want to see what surrounds it! I think I am a borderline hoarder.....

I love vintage clothing and the best past of them are quirky little homemade add ons. When designing my collection I knew I wanted something extra added to it because I think it’s the little things that make and outfit. Lucky for me my mum has an amazing friend that knits me a jumper from old knitting patterns every year and offered to help me with my range. Of course I jumper on this offer and since then she has been knitting me meters of frill in yellow, white and, navy. She is also knitting me a white and navy striped knitted cardigan to go over my bathers. By having knitted frill on collars and cuffs in my range I think it adds a special touch and attracts interest.

Colour of the collection

So I have finally got around to doing another post. It’s been awhile ....Pictured below is my range of material for my holiday collection. Besides the lycra for my bathers I wanted all natural fibers for my range because I think they feel allot softer. I ended up choosing allot of silks and some cottons. This decision has ended up costing me alot of money....aha
The driving force behind my choice of colours is from the butterfly pattern pastel yellow fabric. I was it in Catwalk fabrics and knew i had to use it. I chose navy to go with the yellow, white that matches the white in the butterflies and chose baby pink as well to lighten the whole collection up and make it more girly.
At first I wasn’t sure about how all the colours would work together because in my head they didn’t classically go together but now that I can see them all together I like how they are a bit odd and quirky.
